Nearly 1,000 business and community leaders offer input into the college’s curriculum. Conestoga’s project-based learning model gives students the opportunity to learn hands-on and prepare for successful careers in the fields of business and hospitality, engineering and IT, skilled trades, community services, health and life sciences, media and design. 

Conestoga is one of the premier polytechnic colleges in Canada, delivering a full range of hands-on education, training and applied research programs to prepare students for success. The college offers career-focused programs that range from diplomas and degrees to postgraduate certificates, which are industry relevant and help equip students with the skills employers are looking for today. 

Students learn from experienced faculty and can practice in cutting-edge facilities that meet and exceed industry standards. Students can also participate in applied research and help find solutions for real-world clients. 

Conestoga graduates career-ready students with the skills to address tomorrow’s challenges and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Its graduate satisfaction and graduate employment rates are among the highest of Ontario’s colleges. Over 88 percent of Conestoga graduates were found to be employed within six months of graduation (2017-18).

Graduate outcomes

Conestoga college is regularly rated as one of the best colleges in Ontario in terms of graduate employment success, in addition to student and employer satisfaction. This achievement is delivered through the college’s consistent focus on career-oriented education that combines theoretical expertise with practical, hands-on training modules designed to deliver professional success. 

The college’s track record of success is second to none and its students regularly secure honors in provincial and international academic competitions. The college’s satisfaction rate among employers has been over 90 percent since the survey began. In addition to this, the rate of default on student loans amongst Conestoga graduates is one of the lowest in the province, reflecting the success that the vast majority of the college’s graduates go on to achieve. 

The college’s rich partnerships with other academic institutions, industrial leaders and local communities mean that Conestoga students have a constant stream of support. The college’s programs and facilities are developed with valuable input from 1,000 community and business leaders, who through advisory committees ensure that the college’s programs turn out highly employable graduates. 

Conestoga is a pillar of the community, with 65 percent of its graduates staying in the area to continue learning and studying after finishing their studies at the college, drawing over CAD 2.3 billion into the local economy every year.

What’s new

Two new campuses for Milton 

Conestoga College is excited to announce the opening of two new campus locations, offering students a huge new range of educational opportunities and modern facilities. 

The new Milton campus will open in 2024, providing 30,000 square feet of learning and socialising space. It’ll support 2,000 students full-time, providing programs across areas including project management, business analysis, community services, supply chain management and more. 

The Steeles Avenue location will also be opening in 2024, housing the Conestoga Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education. Through the provision of high-quality experiential learning, excellent student support and new collaboration opportunities, students will be supported in achieving their goals. Available programs include nursing leadership and healthcare management, health and social systems navigation, enhanced practice for internationally educated nurses, and more. 

Expanding healthcare education for Milton 

Conestoga College’s School of Health and Life Sciences is broadening the reach of its healthcare program offerings, introducing new and exciting study options for Milton. 

Made possible through the new Conestoga Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education, opening in 2024, students will be able to undertake a range of hands-on qualifications in personal support worker (PSW) and nurse training. 

Up to 800 full-time students will be able to study at the new centre, benefiting from an environment designed for collaboration, enhanced networking opportunities and a continuing dedication to high-quality learning experience.
